One of the most noteworthy visuals of the charm bracelet belongs to the world-renowned Tiffany and Co. They introduced their initial charm bracelet way back in 1889. It was simply a plain link bracelet with one charm, a dangling heart in silver. The style of heart is today seen as synonymous with Tiffany's.

The most current batch of charm bracelets seem to have been essentially produced in Europe. Most notable of these is Danish company Trollbeads. It was Trollbeads which brought about the revitalization of charm jewellery during the nineteen seventies. These later design of bracelet used a modular structure, which basically meant that beads and charms had been produced to go with a specific make of bracelet. The Scandinavian company Pandora is the biggest charm manufacturer of this style of modern charm bracelet. So far they have offered over 900 different charms and all of these are machined with threads inside of them. This trademarked technique means that Pandora charms are not going to work on different brands of bracelets. The charms are made solely to be mixed and matched within their own brand.

Aside from that, the majority of charm manufacturers also offer different clips and spacers in addition to charms. A spacer is like a thinner style of charm that is used to break up elaborate designs. A clip is similar to both of these, but contains a hinge which allows it to be clamped down on the bracelet and fixes it in one position. Therefore, clips can be used to section off rows of charms and stop them from sliding all the way around the bracelet. Various other brands which use threading technology as part of their bracelet model include Links of London, Aagaard and Lovelinks.

While Europe is the leading manufacturer of modern charms, they have also become highly sought after in the USA. The significant draw of these more modern charm brands is the number of style choices they offer. Bracelets remain available to buy as chain links, which can accommodate a small assortment of hanging charms. However, more established are the plain bracelets that accommodate far more charms. These are usually made in silver with a polished finish, 14K gold and sometimes leather.

Furthermore the charms are made from numerous differing resources. These differing materials are reflected in the sale price of each charm. Commonly charms, or beads as some people refer to them as, are created from sterling silver. However, you can also find them made from high quality gold and gemstones, murano glass and even wood.
